AKMUDITUP Turnagain Arm Mud Tour
Our flagship guided ride across the muddy tidelands and grassy meadows of Turnagain Arm. Cross wet sands, streams, and mudflats with a guide leading the way, and keep an eye out for moose, coyotes, and waterfalls before the route wraps at Seattle Creek.

What the ride actually is
Three hours across the tidelands of Turnagain Arm, on wet sand and through shallow channels, with a local rider leading the whole way. The route runs out toward Seattle Creek and back, and the start time moves with the tide rather than sitting on a fixed clock.
You are riding, not being driven. Every rider gets their own machine unless you book a passenger seat, and the guide sets a pace the group can hold. Rain gear and boots are provided, because you will not stay dry and there is no point pretending otherwise.
Unlike most Alaska ATV tours that run on dusty cobble trails, these wet sands allow for smooth, high-visibility riding. Andy, on why the tidelands are different
Moose, coyotes and waterfalls are all on the route. None of them are promised: this is open country and the wildlife has not agreed to anything.

Every frame here is from one of our own tour days, July 2026. Nothing stock, nothing generated.
Where you meet us
Save the pin before you drive down. Signal on that stretch of the Seward Highway is unreliable.
Start times follow the tide, so we confirm your exact time when you book. Come dressed for weather.
Approach from the north, the Portage direction. Pull onto the shoulder and into the parking area. It is 50 miles from Anchorage, 15 from Girdwood and 4 from Portage.
Two ways to ride it
Both prices already include the $20 Alaska Land Use Fee, charged per person per trip. We show the all-in figure so the number here is the number you pay: $345 plus $20 for a driver.
